→ Introduction
Every year, I go to Riverside camp at Willow Park during the holidays. At Riverside camp, myself and my group had the performance on the final night. We were super nervous to perform to our families, but we got it done.
Paragraph 1
When we got there we found that a lot of parents and kids had shown up to watch everyone perform. We knew we would do well but one girl got really nervous and made us nervous as well. Time passed and no one had been called up to the stage yet. We played with a fruit burst bunny that is like a chubby bunny but instead we had to use a fruit burst. The first team finally went up and that team was Ono Whetu. They did so well. All other teams went up and did their best while the nerves were getting to us but we still put on a brave face and cheered them on. We all talked to each other telling them how nervous we were. It was the team before us and we watched them with no nervous faces. We started getting scared. We all watched everyone perform with a proud face and a smile on their faces but we all had an excited feeling with still a lot of nerves but we managed to get a good look of what we were going to have to do if we wanted to have a good performance.
Paragraph 2
We finally heard our introduction and got onto the stage. When we all heard everyone cheering for us. We realised we couldn’t spend the last night feeling nervous. Our music started and we were doing very well. With everyone still cheering we carried on and started doing the rest of our dance.
We did everything very well and we looked like we didn’t forget the moves on our last practice.
Once we got to our next song we looked confident in our dance.Even though we were nervous everyone cheered and it felt like nobody was nervous at the start.While we looked confident I

We had some free time and went to see who won.
The CG’s won, which was my older sister Jazarah’s team. Mr Burt called out second, which was my team, third, Migos and fourth, Ono Whetu. We had a really great time and even though we came second we still were proud.
Conclusion
In the end we all had a lot of fun, even though we got scared, sad, mad and nervous.

(Task description) I have finished a task that is called Matariki-public holiday.This task was a persuasive Writing.A persuasive writing is a paragraph with 4 letters that are O.R.E.O that stands for opinion,reason,example,And opinion again but in a different way.
I support the idea of a public holiday on matariki for these three reasons so we can celebrate the Maori New Year,so we can represent the Maori culture, and so you can move onto the future and leave the past behind.

Firstly.I support the idea of a public holiday for matariki.I support the idea of a public holiday on matariki so you can celebrate the Maori New Year.For example if someone hasn’t been spending much time with their family they could celebrate the maori new year and have some time to connect with more of their family.They could celebrate their culture and make their family happy This is one reason why I think we should have a public holiday for matariki.

Secondly I support the idea of a public holiday on matariki and the reason is so we can represent our culture with our family.For example if a kid was stuck at school celebrating matariki their family would celebrate and make the kid sad but if we have a public holiday
we wouldn’t have to go through all of that.So we would obviously be happy if we celebrated the maori culture with our families and we would want the whole day for it so you would have to have a public holiday on matariki day to do the that.This is the second reason why I think that we should celebrate the Maori New Year with a public holiday.

Lastly.I think that we should have a public holiday on matariki and this is the reason why,so we can move on to the future and leave the past behind.For example on matariki instead of being at school we could go home and set new goals for the future like if you wanted to start going to church every time there is a church service that could be your goal and if you never want to miss a day of school if there is school.This is my last reason why I think that we should have a public holiday.
Conclusion
In conclusion I think that a public holiday on matariki would be the best idea for kids so they can celebrate the Maori New Year,So we can represent the maori culture, and so you can move onto the future and leave the past behind.I strongly support the idea of a public holiday on matariki for all of these reasons.
